The two major known 'problems' remaining: (edit: haven't tested much modding functionality yet though, but basically it does work) Most things should work fine, but I'm sure there are several parts which could be improved, so PRs and bug reports welcome! I spontaneously decided to commit the Mod-Organizer 2 implementation before Praha This might work, but it would be nice, if someone with some knowledge about MO2 could give me some hints how MO2 works here.

If those assumptions are correct, the only sane solution to fix/workaround this, is to hook in an automatic symlinker function, which symlinks the enabled mods into the game before the actual game start (ands removed disabled ones) Which would mean that MO2 would forcefullly require a dotnet installation, which is a problem because since some time there are multiple dotnet wine regression problems, which still don't seem to be fixed - at least with the wine versions used in proton ( same problem with the Vortex implementation)Įdit: MO2 itself (without usvfs) seems to work fine with mono (apart from some minor? warnings), so of course it would be nice to not depend on dotnet48. That MO2 needs to be running for the mods to become available in the game or - even worse - the game even needs to be started via MO2.Īdditionally, usvfs also seems to have problems via wine/proton, This would be a no-go for my current implementation, as it would mean (at least I think so) It looks like MO2 usvfs is required, which kind of overlayfs-es the enabled mods into the game dir.
